Team USA is expected to do big things at the 2026 Olympics, and after originally snubbing him from camp, they've now added Lane Hutson to their roster.
Earlier this off-season, Team USA announced a training camp roster ahead of the 2026 Olympic Games, and unsurprisingly, there were plenty of snubs that fans and analysts alike were quick to point out.
One of those was Montreal Canadiens blue liner and reigning Calder Trophy winner Lane Hutson, with the team believing him passing on the World Championships was a bad look, and one that potentially
cost him his spot on the roster.

Now, a preliminary, expanded roster has been announced with the tournament officially less than six months away, and according to Frank Seravalli, the 21-year old blue liner is on that roster.
While Hutson has just two assists in four games to start the 2025/26 campaign in Montreal, he's one of the most electric players in the NHL, and with Team USA needing depth ahead of that tournament, he's the perfect addition for the squad.
Along with Hutson will be the Vancouver Canucks duo of
Brock Boeser and
Thatcher Demko, with the latter showing just how deep this squad has become in net in recent times.
Only time will tell whether Hutson, Boeser or Demko make the ice for Team USA at the Olympic Games, but after many believing Hutson was a major snub for the tournament, Team USA have officially rectified that.
