During his appearance on Daily Faceoff Live, former NHL enforcer Matthew Barnaby called out Kevyn Adams' role in Buffalo, stating that it's one he didn't earn, and only got because he's cheap and a 'yes man'.
He just had to be in the right place at the right time when they were cutting budgets, and I guarantee he's on the cheap. He's gotta be the lowest paid GM in the league and essentially a yes man.
Sure, there's plenty of luck that comes with getting any role in the National Hockey League, but given how the Sabres have failed to retain talent and put together a roster under Adams, it's easy to see that he's having his strings pulled by the higher ups in the organization.
Ultimately, there's more problems than just Adams in the Sabres organization, but his path to the GM role was certainly questionable, and until the franchise can figure all of those issues out, they'll continue to be at the bottom of the barrel in the NHL.
