After Carter Hart's return to the NHL was made official, fans can't help but commenting on his first appearance with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Thursday was a massive day for news around the NHL, but the biggest of all involved Carter Hart, whose NHL future has been confirmed after he officially signed with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Obviously, there was plenty of backlash and controversy, so much so that the organization had to put out a statement defending their decision to sign the controversial Canadian goaltender.
Carter Hart Makes First Appearance as a Vegas Golden Knight
While Hart can't take to the ice for Vegas until December 1st, he made his first appearance on Thursday, stating that he's learned and grown a lot during his time away from the NHL.
It's been a long road to get back to this point, to get back to the game of hockey. The game that I love. I've been out of the game for a year and a half now. I've learned a lot, I've grown a lot, and I'm just excited to move forward.
However, some fans were more concerned with the way that Hart looks in the aftermath of his off-ice issues, with one social media comment in particular standing out as it calls out how much Hart has seemingly aged in his two years away.
Man he looks different, dude has really aged in just a couple of years...
Looking at before and after photos of Hart's last NHL appearance, it's easy to see why a comment like this would be made, and while the NHL and NHLPA have seemingly welcomed him back to the league, it may take fans a lot, lot longer to accept that reality.
