Vancouver Canucks show interest in top remaining free agent
The Vancouver Canucks have apparently shown interest in Daniel Sprong, one of the top remaining free agents available on the market.
It looks like the Canucks could be planning another important acquisition, three weeks after the opening of the free agent market.
According to Rick Dhaliwal, the organization has shown interest in the forward Daniel Sprong.
"F Daniel Sprong is still available.
Sources say Canucks have interest."
Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Penguins, Sprong, 27, played in 344 games in the NHL since then, He wore the uniform of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Washington Cpaitals, Seattle Kraken and Detroit Red Wings.
Last season, in Detroit, he tallied 43 points, including 18 goals in 76 games.
Teams with high Stanley Cup aspirations need guys like Sprong. He is a great bottom-six player, that would considerably add depth to any lineup.
The Canucks, coming off a frustrating elimination in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the second round by the Edmonton Oilers, will do all they can to bounce back and win the Cup next season; adding more depth to the lineup will only help them achieve their goals.
