Quinn Hughes was recently traded in a shock deal to Minnesota, and now one of his long time teammates has addressed how everything went down in Vancouver.

For a long time, the Vancouver Canucks were readying themselves to move captain Quinn Hughes, and then recently, they made the deal out of nowhere, trading him to the Minnesota Wild.
The deal brought back a first-round pick and three former first-round picks, and since that point, the Canucks have gone 2-0 with those three in the lineup, showing that this deal was a good one to make for the present and the future.

However, unsurprisingly, not everyone was happy about it, as some of Quinn's long-time teammates have now been left behind, including Brock Boeser, who re-signed in Vancouver this summer, potentially to play with Hughes and other players he's become close with.
The trade hit the veteran winger hard, and now he's addressed the trade, and while he's somewhat happy for Hughes, it's hard to ignore the emotions that came along with seeing his friend dealt.
I know there's a few of us, especially myself... I was feeling so many different emotions, because he's one of my best buddies on the team and such an important piece. Couldn't really explain. I was sad. I was mad. I was happy for him. It was just a ton of emotions. - Brock Boeser
Clearly, the Hughes trade came as a shock to everyone in the locker room despite the speculation around him for the past several months, and while it may end up working for both Minnesota and Vancouver in the long-term, it's hard to separate that emotion immediately after the deal for the players involved.
