Even though there are multiple players on the Vancouver Canucks reportedly up for grabs, a new name has been added to the list in former first rounder Jake DeBrusk.
With the Vancouver Canucks in shambles right now, there are multiple players who are likely going to be traded between now and the March 6 traded deadline.
Among the several names that are reportedly carrying the highest likelihood of being traded include Kiefer Sherwood, Conor Garland and Elias Pettersson. But now, there is a new forward who has found himself included in trade rumours.
Per Canucks analyst Sat Shah, the newest player to reportedly become up for grabs by Vancouver is Jake DeBrusk.
So far this year with Vancouver, which is his second season wearing a Canucks sweater, DeBrusk has 22 points (12G, 10A).
Jake DeBrusk Signed With The Canucks In 2024
DeBrusk was taken with the 14th overall pick by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, and he would play the first several years of his NHL career in a Bruins sweater.
DeBrusk helped the Bruins advance to the 2019 Stanley Cup Final, where they lost in a heartbreaking seven game series to the St. Louis Blues.
After several years in Boston, DeBrusk became a UFA and decided to move to the opposite coast of the continent, signing a seven year deal with the Canucks in 2024.
The Canucks were coming off a Pacific Division win and advancing to Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinal against the Edmonton Oilers, but missed the playoffs in DeBrusk's first year with the team.
So far this year, things have gotten considerably worse for Vancouver, who is nowhere near a playoff spot and are last overall in both their division and conference.
