Vancouver Canucks forward is stepping away from the team because of an undisclosed personal reason and he was unavailable for today's game against the Washington Capitals.
The Canucks beat the Washington Capitals today 4-3 at Capital One Arena in Washington DC, but they did so without one of their most important forwards in
Brock Boeser.
Before the game, it was announced by GM Patrik Allvin that Boeser wasn't going to play because of an undisclosed personal issue.
General Manager Patrick Allvin announced today that F Brock Boeser will not play today due to personal reasons.
There was no further explanation given beyond what the Canucks posted on their X account, and it wouldn't be right to try and speculate as to the reasons why he wasn't able to suit up.
We hope everything is okay in Boeser's personal life and that he can return to the ice for the Canucks as soon as possible.
The Canucks Re-Signed Brock Boeser During the Summer
Even though most indications pointed toward Boeser not coming back for another tenure with the Canucks as a UFA, he surprised most people who had thought of him as good as gone from the Canucks by signing a new contract.
He signed a
7 year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $7.25 million.
Taken with the 23rd pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Boeser has played his entire NHL career with the Canucks.
So far in 5 games this year with Vancouver, Boeser has 3 goals. He's 2 years removed from reaching a new career-best in goals scored with 40 in 2023-24, helping the Canucks to the Pacific Division title.
