The Calgary Flames have been a disaster early in 2025/26, and now a top broadcaster has taken aim at Yegor Sharangovich for his terrible play.

After a promising performance last season, the Calgary Flames are off to a disastrous start in 2025/26, going 1-5-0 through six games as they've struggled mightily against some tough opponents.
Things reached a boiling point on Saturday night as they were decimated by the Vegas Golden Knights, falling 6-1 as they lost their fifth game in a row, with many disappointing performances in the loss.

Kevin Bieksa Calls out Yegor Sharangovich's Lazy Play

One player that stood out in the worst way for Calgary is forward Yegor Sharangovich, who was caught out for his lazy play several times, with broadcaster and former NHLer Kevin Bieksa quickly calling him out for it.
The concern is if you're losing games and guys are not giving it their all. Watch this effort right here, down 6-1, I think [Sharangovich] apologized for almost hitting Karlsson there.

That's a culture thing for me If you're going to get an effort like that from a guy, get rid of him. You're disgracing the NHL with an effort like that.
This is one sentiment that most Flames fans completely agree on, as Sharangovich disgraced his teammates and the fans with his performance on Saturday night, as he simply looks disinterested and disengaged without the puck.
Ultimately, this is going to be a very tough year in Calgary with the lack of elite talent finally set to catch up with them, and if players like Sharangovich keep putting forth this effort, they'll have little chance of being competitive.
