Former Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand said he expects that it'll be a "weird" experience when he returns to play against his old team for the 1st time.

The time of former Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand came to a surprising end last year when he was traded to the divisional foe Florida Panthers, who had eliminated Marchand and the Bruins from the postseason in each of the previous 2 years.
Marchand would go on to win his 2nd Stanley Cup, helping the Panthers repeat as Cup champions with a win over the Edmonton Oilers. Marchand scored 6 goals alone in the SCF and was even a candidate for the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
He was a UFA over the summer but raised eyebrows everywhere when he signed a 6 year contract to remain with the Panthers; he's under contract now until he's 43.
On Tuesday, Marchand returns to Boston to play for the 1st time since the trade; the Panthers played the Bruins at TD Garden last year shortly after the trade, but Marchand wasn't healthy enough to play.
He admitted that it's likely going to be a "weird' feeling for him playing against his old team.
It's going to be weird. I think there's going to be a lot of different emotions, even playing in the 4 Nations for Canada was different. There's a mix. A mix of emotions being on the other side of it. There's a lot that goes with the situation I'm in now. So yeah, a mix of nerves, mix of emotions, happy and sad. - Brad Marchand

Brad Marchand Will Be Under Contract Until He's 43

Marchand could have tested the UFA market, but instead chose to re-sign with the Panthers for 6 years.
He's earning an AAV (average annual value) of $5.25 million to remain with the team he just won his 2nd Stanley Cup with; they also managed to re-sign Aaron Ekblad and Sam Bennett to new deals.
