Utah Mammoth captain Clayton Keller has issued a bold declaration that will fire up fans in Salt Lake City about the team's intentions to make the postseason in 2026.

The Utah Mammoth have signed a handful of new faces for what will be their 2nd year in Salt Lake City, and captain Clayton Keller is naturally excited about the possibility of things to come.
Among the new players who will be wearing Mammoth gear this year are Brandon Tanev, Vitek Vanecek, and Nate Schmid, the latter 2 of which were part of the Florida Panthers' recent Stanley Cup-winning team.
Keller believes the additional experience and additional year of growth can help the Mammoth realistically challenge for the playoffs in 2026.
All the guys are super excited. We're a year older; we're a more experienced team.

In order to win, you can't just keep bringing in more young guys every year. Culture and all that takes time. Over these last three, four years our group has really been bought in and gone through those tougher times to be ready to take this next step and get in the playoffs.

The Mammoth will begin their pre-season schedule against the Anaheim Ducks on September 22.

The Utah Mammoth recently chose a new nickname

Following their move from the desert and their previous identity as the Arizona Coyotes following years of financial uncertainty, the Utah Hockey Club debuted for 2024-25, but didn't have an official nickname or mascot.
That changed months ago, as they were officially branded as the Utah Mammoth.
Mammoth goaltender Karel Vejmelka has already made the most of the new logo design with a beautiful goalie gear setup with clear nods to the new team logo:
