Toronto Maple Leafs linked to 100-point star forward Jason Robertson by Nick Kypreos

Jason Robertson has been a star for the Dallas Stars this season, and now reporter Nick Kypreos has suggested he could be a trade target for the Maple Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have steadied the ship in recent times, but with a record of 20-15-7 on the year, they're still sitting on the outside looking in at the Stanley Cup Playoffs race in the Eastern Conference.
Given the talent that they do have however, there's optimism that this team can have a big second half and make a run, and to do that, they'll need to make some changes, with the team unsurprisingly linked to some big moves ahead of the trade deadline.
Maple Leafs linked to Dallas Stars forward
While most analysts have linked them to smaller moves, this is a team that's not afraid to make a blockbuster deal, and now, reporter Nick Kypreos has suggested the team should go after a very big fish, namely, Jason Robertson.
Last year, Easton Cowan was pushed as a trade chip in an effort to try and obtain Brayden Schenn, but Cowan's going to be hard to put into play again this season... One idea floating around the league is a bigger swing involving Dallas - specifically Jason Robertson. - Nick Kypreos
To make this deal, the Maple Leafs would almost certainly have to give up Easton Cowan as well as another top prospect, and given that Robertson has tallied 25 goals and 52 points in 44 games this season, there's a chance that he's not available at all.
Ultimately, Robertson would be a massive pickup for Toronto, as he could replace all the production that they lost when Mitch Marner departed this off-season, and however unrealistic the move would be, it would be a franchise altering deal for Toronto if it actually happened.
