Maple Leafs analyst Sid Seixeiro had an unorthodox suggestion to replace Craig Berube behind the bench if it came to that - former Flyers coach John Tortorella.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are struggling heavily right now, and there has even been rampant speculation about a potential change behind the bench.
Maple Leafs analyst Sid Seixeiro has raised more than a few eyebrows with his unorthodox suggestion of Toronto general manager Brad Treliving hiring former Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella as a replacement for Berube if they were to decide to pull that trigger.
The Leafs may fire Craig Berube. I don't like it but it could happen.
If Toronto's management pull the trigger someone upstairs thinks the season is salvageable and they want to send a shockwave through the room. There's only one person who can do it: John Tortorella.

As hockey fans remember, Tortorella has already coached north of the Canadian border in his disastrous first and only year with the Vancouver Canucks in 2013-14. Not only did he want the offensive-minded Sedin twins to focus more on shot blocking, but he also made the decision that eventually drove goaltender Roberto Luongo away from the Canucks and back to the Florida Panthers.
He coached the last few seasons with the Flyers, and was terminated near the end of last season following some controversial remarks that he says were taken out of context.
The Maple Leafs Have Already Decided On A Key Leadership Change Behind The Bench
The Maple Leafs already did make a change in leadership yesterday, firing assistant coach Marc Savard.
He had been on coach Craig Berube's staff since the summer of 2024, but was in charge of Toronto's struggling power play, which is ranked dead last in the NHL.
Right now, the Leafs are ranked last in the Atlantic Division, a scenario almost nobody would have thought possible.
