Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube talks about the pressure-packed situation and how he handles being in the media fish bowl of Toronto.

Barring a miracle, the Toronto Maple LEafs will not make the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2016, the same year they drafted future captain Auston Matthews with the first overall pick.
One of the main figures taking some heavy criticism is head coach Craig Berube, especially with how well players like Bobby McMann and Scott Laughton have played for their new respective teams since leaving the Maple Leafs.
Arguably the most pressure-filled job in the NHL's most intense media market is being head coach of the Maple Leafs, and Berube is right in the thick of it. But he said he has no problem with the pressure, and even "loves" it.
I love this. I love it here. I think it's a great place. I really do. I get there's pressure that comes with playing here but, at the same time, I'd rather have the pressure than no pressure. - Craig Berube
There has been talk about whether or not Berube will be back behind the Maple Leafs bench next season, a decision that will have to be weighed carefully by general manager Brad Treliving.
Berube, who won a Stanley Cup as head coach of the St. Louis Blues in 2019, helped the Maple Leafs win just their second postseason series since 2004 last spring.

Craig Berube Understands The Frustration Of Fans

Berube also said that he understands the frustration of Leafs fans, who often voice their frustration with loud booing when the team doesn't perform well.
There comes criticism with not doing well. That's part of the game. You've got to understand that's just the way it is, and you've got to deal with it. They have every right to be critical. They pay good money for tickets, and they want the Leafs to do well. So when they're not doing well, there's going to be some criticism. - Craig Berube
