Saturday's pre-season finale with the Lightning and Panthers was pure chaos, and now, with no pre-season games left, two players are officially facing suspension.

The NHL pre-season is usually a time for teams to take it easy and warm up into the regular season, but when the Battle of Florida is on, it appears as though there is no taking it easy.
In the latest showdown between the Panthers and Lightning, a whopping 312 penalty minutes and 16 ejections were assessed, and unsurprisingly, that means several players could be facing suspension.

Two Players to Have a Hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety

Shortly after the game, Frank Seravalli revealed that Tampa Bay's JJ Moser and Scott Sabourin will officially have hearings with the NHL's Department of Player Safety, with other punishments likely to be dished out via fines.
The NHL's Department of Player Safety confirmed both of these hearings, with Sabourin especially facing a suspension for his roughing on Panthers star defenseman Aaron Ekblad.
This wasn't all however, the DoPS confirmed that two further Lightning players have been fined, with this coming just one day after AJ Greer was fined for his actions against Lightning star Brandon Hagel.
All of this occurred in the pre-season, where around the league we've seen some hits and some fights, but nothing to this extent, showing that the Lightning/Panthers rivalry remains one of the best and most hotly contested ones in the entire NHL.
Clearly, the intensity in this rivalry is as high as it has ever been, and with both teams looking to chase the Stanley Cup in 2025/26, when they do battle again, it will likely be must-watch for all hockey fans.
