Shane Wright appears to be on the trade block, and if the Kraken are to move him, they have one superstar winger in mind they'd want to land.
The Seattle Kraken find themselves in a post-season spot in the Pacific Division right now, and while they've got very few stars on their roster, they're deep and make very few mistakes right now as they've posted a record of 25-19-9 in the process.
If they are to take the next step, this is a team that needs some superstars, and as of late, the speculation surrounding Shane Wright has grown, with the team hoping to deal their top prospect for a proven star.
Seattle Kraken targeting Artemi Panarin
While there aren't many stars out there that fit the Kraken's timeline, according to a report from Elliotte Friedman, the team would love to move Wright for a player such as Artemi Panarin.
Unfortunately for Seattle, Panarin likely isn't going to accept a deal to Seattle, as it was recently reported that any deal for the 34-year old Rangers star would have to come with an extension attached, as he is looking to land a four-year deal.
On paper, Panarin would give the Kraken the type of elite level production on the wing that could help in a big way, but given that he would need to approve a deal with an extension, it's highly unlikely.
Still, Wright is a potential star of the future, and if the team really are motivated to move the 22-year old in the weeks ahead of the 2026 trade deadline, there's still a big chance that they can land a superstar to lead them back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
