Team Canada defenseman emerging in trade talks weeks before the Olympics

Per a new report from NHL analyst David Pagnotta, the St. Louis Blues are very possibly about to reengage in trade talks regarding defenseman Colton Parayko.
It's largely been a struggle for the St. Louis Blues this year, who are only three points ahead of the Winnipeg Jets for the last place spot in the NHL's Central Division.
There have been a handful of Blues players who have found their names embroiled in trade discussions, including captain Brayden Schenn and star forward Robert Thomas.
But another player who could soon be back on the trade market is defenseman Colton Parayko, who will play for Canada in the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics.
Per a report from NHL analyst David Pagnotta, even though Parayko's name hasn't been recently mentioned in trade rumours, they could once again start up if the Blues' fortunes don't improve soon.

So far this year, Parako has no goals with 12 assists in 46 games played.
Colton Parayko Has Played His Entire NHL Career In A Blues Sweater
Parayko was taken by the Blues with the 86th overall pick by the Blues in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and he's played his entire career wearing a Blues sweater.
He was part of the highest glory that the Blues as a franchise achieved, winning their first and only Stanley Cup in an exciting seven game series over the Boston Bruins in 2019.
In his career, Parayko has 307 points (77G, 230A) in 769 games.
