Sidney Crosby is one of the NHL's greatest ever players, and his latest point scoring milestone puts him up among the best of all-time.

Over the past two decades, Sidney Crosby has established himself as one of the best players in the history of the National Hockey League, and after all the expectations on his shoulders, it's safe to say that he surpassed them.
Even at 38-years of age, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain is still incredibly productive, as he's started the 2025/26 campaign with an impressive 7 goals and 14 points through 10 games played, helping the Penguins to a surprise 7-2-1 record.

Sidney Crosby Joins Elite Company In Latest Game

During the Penguins latest victory over the St. Louis Blues, Crosby put up 1 goal and 2 assists, officially passing 1,700 points for his career, and in doing so, became just the ninth player in league history to surpass that plateau.
The list of names above him is an absolutely elite one, with those other eight being Wayne Gretzky, Jaromir Jagr, Mark Messier, Gordie Howe, Ron Francis, Marcel Dionne, Steve Yzerman and Lemieux, who are considered to be some of the greatest players in league history.
With 1,701 points now after that last game, Crosby is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down, and if he continues to be a point-per-game player at this stage of his career, no one is ruling out 1,800 or even 1,900 points for the Penguins captain.
Ultimately, Sid has lived up to every expectation that was placed upon him as a generational prospect, and while his future in Pittsburgh may be up in the air, he's continuing to establish himself as an all-time great with his recent play.
