Neither Zegras nor Skalicky has commented publicly on the nature of their relationship.

What separates this from a typical fan sighting is Skalicky's role. She is not an independent journalist covering the team from outside; she is employed directly by the Flyers organization, producing content through the club's own channels.

That dynamic has fueled questions about journalistic boundaries and locker room access should the pairing be more than a friendship.

Some fans have drawn comparisons to a past situation involving former Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen and another team-affiliated reporter, suggesting this would not be the first time a Flyers player's personal life has overlapped with the team's media operation.

Zegras and Skalicky are not strangers on camera. Their "feathered and lethal" media day interview went viral in October 2025 and remains among her most recognized clips with the organization.
