Cam York is a promising young name in Philadelphia, but after the teams latest disrespectful move, speculation has begun that he could be on the way out.
This season, Philadelphia Flyers fans have had plenty to complain about with the treatment of their young stars, as star rookie
Matvei Michkov has been a healthy scratch several times under John Tortorella.
Now, Brad Shaw has taken over after the team moved on from their veteran Head Coach, but unfortunately, the treatment of their young stars has continued on Thursday.
During their 6-4 victory over the surging Montreal Canadiens, the team dressed defenseman Cam York, but for some reason he was give 0 shifts in the game despite his solid play as of late.
After a career high of 30 points a season ago, the 24-year old hasn't been as productive in 2024/25, with 4 goals and 15 points in 59 games played, and now, the coaching staff is sending a message to the talented blue liner.
Back in 2019, the Flyers spent the No. 14 overall pick on York, and he's played in 228 games for the team since that point, but for some reason they simply haven't utilized him to his greatest potential this year.
Clearly, fans aren't too happy with the situation, as they've had to deal with Tortorella's handling of Matvei Michkov all season long, but even after his departure, strange things are clearly happening.
After trading both
Morgan Frost and
Joel Farabee earlier this season, this has sparked speculation that York could be the next young player to be traded, and after getting absolutely no ice time in this one, it's easy to see why York and Flyers fans are frustrated with the situation.
