The Boston Bruins have had one of the worst seasons of any team in the NHL, and with just a few games left, Cam Neely has put the locker room on blast.
Despite having high expectations coming into this season, the Boston Bruins have struggled mightily, and as a result, they traded away names like
Brad Marchand,
Charlie Coyle and
Trent Frederic at the trade deadline.
With nine games left in the season, the Bruins have some time to turn things around after their current six-game losing skid, and given the poor performances, it's unsurprising that the front office is very unhappy.
Ahead of their latest loss, it was President Cam Neely that sent a stern message to the locker room in an interview with the Boston Globe, putting some players on blast who may need to prove themselves in a big way down the stretch.
«There isn't really too much I can say about liking during the season right now. It's just really about how we finish and seeing what guys may want to step up and show us that they're NHL players.»
Not only that, but he admitted that absolutely anything is on the table when it comes to improving the team, meaning that they could look to land a splash in free agency, look to make some moves at the 2025 NHL Draft or even make a huge trade to change the complexion of this team.
"I think everything is on the table as far as trying to improve the club"
Given their contracts and play, it's likely that
Charlie McAvoy,
David Pastrnak and
Jeremy Swayman, if they want to remain in Boston will be seen as untouchable, but beyond that, absolutely anything could happen.
In Boston, absolutely nobody saw this collapse coming, and with a very weak prospect pool, there needs to be some major changes, and after the message sent by Cam Neely, it appears that almost no one is safe in Boston.
