Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet Reportedly Being Pursued By Eastern Conference Team

After making the Stanley Cup Playoffs a year ago, the expectations were high for the Vancouver Canucks in 2024/25, but with the team fighting for a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot, it's safe to say that thus far, they've been a major disappointment.

As a result, there's been plenty of questions asked about Head Coach Rick Tocchet, who has struggled to get the same results from the Canucks this season, with many people predicting that he could be moved on at the end of the season if they miss the post-season.

Now, a new report has emerged that after firing John Tortorella on Thursday, the Philadelphia Flyers have Tocchet as their top Head Coach replacement ahead of what could be a very interesting off-season.

Last year, Tocchet was one of the most popular coaches in the NHL after he managed to get the best out of several players in Vancouver, but given the way he handled the situation with J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson and their struggles on the ice, he's fallen massively out of favour.

Ultimately, for now his job is likely safe in Vancouver, especially if they can win the race to land one of the two Wild Card spots in the Western Conference, but if the Canucks miss the post-season and go in a different direction, don't expect Tocchet to be out of work for long as teams, including the Flyers would be lining up to land the 60-year old.
