The Edmonton Oilers lost more than their game against the Dallas Stars, losing goaltender Stuart Skinner to injury - and now, veteran Corey Perry is speaking out.

The 4-3 loss in regulation wasn't the only setback suffered by the Edmonton Oilers in last night's game at Rogers Place against the Dallas Stars.
Goaltender Stuart Skinner was forced from the game after he was hurt in a collision with Stars forward Mikko Rantanen in the crease.
Oilers veteran Corey Perry, who re-signed with the club during the summer for another chance at making the Stanley Cup Final, vented his frustration with himself in that there wasn't much of a response against Rantanen.
«I was pissed at myself. I didn't see what happened. I was on the ice when Rantanen hit Skinner and that's on me. I should never let that happen.

I didn't see what happened. I saw Stu go down and everyone was standing around. I didn't see it until afterwards, and I was pretty pissed at myself I didn't see it.

It's the 2nd time in as many weeks that Skinner was forced from a game following a collision with an opposition player; he was also hurt by Winnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi, which also drew a tepid response from his teammates.
When asked about the trend of a lack of reaction from the Oilers players when their goaltender is hurt, Perry said they're going to keep that in the dressing room.
We'll talk about that internally.

At best, Skinner has been inconsistent this year, leading fans and pundits to wonder if Oilers management made the right decision not to acquire a goaltender at the Trade Deadline.
Skinner owns a fairly decent record of 24-18-4, but his 2.91 GAA and .894 SV% leave much to be desired.
In Skinner's absence, the starting responsibility will be relegated to Calvin Pickard; he's 17-7-1 with a 2.61 GAA and .901 SV%.
