We've already seen one Metropolitan Division team fire a Head Coach this week, and now, rumours are swirling that Peter Laviolette in New York may be next.

The Philadelphia Flyers made the call to fire John Tortorella on Thursday, and while he was the first coach fired ahead of the summer, it's safe to say that many, many more changes are coming around the league.
While there are plenty of rumours flying about who could be the next coach to go, insider Frank Seravalli has now predicted that it could be Rangers Head Coach Peter Laviolette, with many fans already calling for the team to move on from him before the season comes to an end.
"I'll be very surprised if Peter Laviolette is the coach of the New York Rangers on May 1st."
While the New York Rangers have made the Eastern Conference Finals twice in the past three seasons, the 2024/25 campaign has been completely different for this team, and with the roster to get it done, it's safe to say that Laviolette has under performed in a huge way.
With a 34-32-6 record on the year, the Rangers are still in with a shot at the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as they sit just one point back of the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, this team just doesn't look anywhere near as good as they should on paper.
While some fans have called for New York to replace Laviolette with the recently fired John Tortorella, others simply want Laviolette to be moved on after the poor season he's led this team too, and unless they go on a miracle run down the stretch and make a deep post-season run, it's very likely that there are some changes on the way.
