Senators Analyst Calls Out Major NHL Bias After Team is Fined $25,000 by the League
Analyst Brunce Garrioch hinted that the NHL is biased against the Senators after a major fine was levied against Ottawa for a minor incident, but nothing was against Washington/Montreal after a major incident.
It was one of the more shocking scenes that fans can ever remember seeing during an NHL game, much less the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Not only that, but Wilson was soon plastered all over social media for his mock crying gesture toward the Habs.
Both teams received warnings from the NHL to knock off those type of shenanigans for yesterday's Game 4, but neither received any kind of monetary punishment.
Meanwhile, Ottawa Senators forward
Nick Cousins was fined $2,083.33 for an incident of 'unsportsmanlike conduct' before Game 3 of The Battle of Ontario after he shot a puck toward former teammate and current Leafs goaltender
Anthony Stolarz during the pre-game skate.
The Senators organization was also fined $25,000.
That didn't sit right with Senators analyst Bruce Garrioch, who called out what he feels is a potential bias on the part of the NHL toward Ottawa.
These two teams had an actual fight and neither got a $25,000 fine. Strange justice in this league.
The Senators avoided elimination by the Maple Leafs with their overtime win in Game 4, and will now attempt to make life even more uncomfortable for their divisional foes by winning tomorrow's Game 5 in Toronto.
