Tensions rising between superstar Artemi Panarin and the New York Rangers

Per analyst Vincent Mercogliano, things are taking a turn for the worse between the New York Rangers and pending star UFA forward Artemi Panarin, who is in the last year of his contract.
One of the most strangely inconsistent teams this year is the New York Rangers, who are far better on the road than they are at home.
Despite losing 10-2 yesterday to the New York Rangers, their postseason hopes aren't over. But something that is losing hope is the chances of them being able to keep star forward Artemi Panarin.
Per a new report from analyst Vincent Mercogliano, extension talks between the Rangers and Panarin didn't get far, and there's a chance the Rangers could ask him to move his No Trade Clause to facilitate a trade if their season slips further.

So far this year, he has 48 points (16G, 32A) in 45 games.
Artemi Panarin Is In The Last Year Of His Deal With The Rangers
Panarin was one of the biggest UFA names on the market in 2019, along with his fellow Russian and Columbus Blue Jackets teammate Sergei Bobrovsky.
Bobrovsky signed a seven-year contract with the Florida Panthers, and Panarin signed a seven-year contract with the Rangers.
Even though Panarin has scored plenty of points with the Rangers, he and his teammates have only gone to the Eastern Conference Final twice, even getting knocked out by Bobrovsky and the Panthers in 2024.
If things don't improve for the Rangers soon, Panarin could soon be on the move from the club he's played for since 2019.
