While it may have been just one bad shift for No. 93, it's easy to see where Avery's criticism is coming from, as Zibanejad lost a puck deep in the offensive zone but showed little effort or hustle to even try and get it back. For the past few years, Zibanejad has grown into one of the best goal-scoring centers in the league, tallying 29, 39, and 26 goals over the past three seasons, but ultimately it's led to little success in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
As of this point however, there's been very little criticism from elsewhere about the work ethic of the Rangers star, and until this happens, it certainly shouldn't become an issue, as he has incredible chemistry with everyone on the team and will likely continue to be a key piece of this team that is searching for their first Stanley Cup since way back in 1994.
