Former Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup winning goalie Jonathan Quick will play what is likely his last ever game in Los Angeles tomorrow with the struggling Rangers.
The career of former Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick is winding down, and tomorrow, the fans who used to cheer him for so many years in Los Angeles are going to have the chance to bid him farewell.
Quick and the New York Rangers are set to play the Kings at Crypto.com Arena tomorrow, where Quick won two Stanley Cups as their starter.
Quick has been confirmed as the Rangers' starter for the game, which will likely be the very last in his career in the building that was his home for so many years.
Quick's time in Los Angeles came to an end in 2023 when he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets, who then immediately flipped him to the Vegas Golden Knights, where he eventually won another Stanley Cup.
He's been with the Rangers since the start of 2023-24, the team he grew up rooting for in Connecticut.
Jonathan Quick Won Two Stanley Cups With The Kings
Quick was taken with the 72nd overall pick by the Kings in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, and his NHL career would eventually start in 2008-09.
He quickly became one of the best starters in the NHL, leading the Kings to multiple playoff spots and winning the Stanley Cup in 2012, the first in team history. He was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as part of the win, becoming the second straight goalie after fellow American Tim Thomas to earn Playoff MVP honours.
He then helped them to a second Stanley Cup in three years in 2014, beating his future team, the Rangers.
In what is likely his last year in the NHL (he's two days away from turning 40 years old), Quick has gone 3-10-2- with a .887 SV% as part of a badly struggling Rangers team.
