New York Islanders officially hit rock bottom as a franchise
After going down 3-0 in their playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes, the New York Islanders hit rock bottom as a franchise as their tickets for game four of the Stanley Cup Playoffs sold for cheap.
The playoffs are one of the most profitable times imaginable for most NHL teams that make it. Some tickets that are normally sold for hundreds can retail for thousands and teams make a massive profit. However, the New York Islanders game four tickets versus the Carolina Hurricanes are hitting all-time lows, especially for a playoff game.
With multiple tickets selling for under $30, it is clear the Islanders fans are not positive about the potential outcome of this afternoon's game.
For comparison, the cheapest ticket to the Toronto Maple Leafs' game four matchup versus the Boston Bruins tonight is $366.
With their season on the line, the Islanders will certainly try and push back against Carolina but needing four straight wins is a tall ask for any team.
