New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes, who scored the iconic golden goal for Team USA late last month, wants the historic puck back from the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.

For the first time since 1980, Team USA took home the gold medal and did it with a thrilling victory over Team Canada in overtime in late February.
New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes took a pass from Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski and fired home the historic GWG past Jordan Binnington in OT.
But now, Hughes wants the puck back from the Hockey Hall of Fame, and he also wants to make sure that Megan Keller, who scored the OT GWG to capture the gold for the women's Team USA over Canada, gets the puck she scored her historic goal with.
I'm trying to get it. Like, that's bulls--- that the Hockey Hall of Fame has it, in my opinion. Why would they have that puck? I honestly don't know where that puck went. I know who doesn't have it is me. I sure as hell don't have it.....I don't see why Megan Keller or I shouldn't have those pucks. - Jack Hughes
Whether or not Hughes does in fact eventually get the puck back remains to be seen, but he certainly has a strong case.

Jack Hughes Wants The Puck For His Father

Even though Hughes is well within his rights to want the puck as a personal keepsake, he said he wants his father to have it.
I wouldn't even want it for myself. I'd want it for my dad. I know he'd just love, love having it. When I look back in time in my career, I don't collect too many things for myself, but my dad's a monster collector for the three of us. I know he would have a special place for it. - Jack Hughes

Hughes won the gold medal with Team USA, which also featured his brother Quinn Hughes, on the roster. Like Jack, Quinn also scored an OT GWG for Team USA in the Olympics over Sweden.
