Philadelphia Flyers' off-the-board draft bust Jett Luchanko on his way out of the struggling organization

Back in the 2024 NHL Draft, we saw one of the most loaded classes in recent history, all led by Macklin Celebrini, who has already gone on to become more than a point-per-game star in the National Hockey League.

Beyond that, potential stars like Zayne Parekh, Ivan Demidov, Beckett Sennecke, Zeev Buium and others highlighted the first-round, but unfortunately, there are some picks that teams are already regretting.

One of those players was the No. 13 overall pick Jett Luchanko, who the Philadelphia Flyers massively reached to get, passing on the likes of Konsta Helenius, Michael Hage and other potential stars to land the Guelph Storm centre.

Just two years later however, the team are already prepared to move on from him, with a new report from Craig Button on the Sekeres and Price Show revealing that the team could look to deal him in the near future.

Despite the solid production in the Ontario Hockey League, Luchanko has struggled to recapture any of his pre-draft momentum, and with 0 points and a -6 differential in 8 games for the Flyers over the past two years, it's easy to see where the frustration has come from.

At 19-years of age, obviously there's plenty of time for him to turn things around, but with limited size at 5-11, 180 pounds, it's safe to say that if there is an NHLer in Luchanko, it's going to take some time to bring that out, with the Flyers clearly not having the patience to wait for that.
