Head NHL Disciplinarian George Parros is now responding to the words of Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, who suggested an audit of his department.

Following the latest NHL suspension, which went to Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas for kneeing Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews last week, there were many who felt that the punishment wasn't severe enough.
Matthews suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain and is done for the year, and Gudas was suspended for five games.
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid recently suggested an audit process of the NHL Department of Player Safety which could potentially lead to reduced frustration around the lead.
Why don't we take a look at the process and figure out if there's a better way to make sure both parties are happy? It seems like there's a lot of frustration there. - Connor McDavid

But now, Parros is responding directly to him by saying he couldn't be more confident in the process.
We sweat over these decisions and pour over these decisions every night, all season long. We have a process in place that's consistent, and we have a team that works for me, and together with me, that evaluates all these plays. A very experienced team, a veteran team. Guys that have been there since the beginning of the department. Not to mention all the former players that have a large set of experiences playing NHL games, accolades. Some of the best guys that have played the game work for this department help make decisions. So, our process, I feel very confident in. We've got great guys who make these decisions, and I think the players should be confident in this team to do so. - George Parros

Auston Matthews Is Done For The Year

Matthews suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain and was ruled out for the rest of the year, leading to intense frustration on his team's part that Gudas wasn't more severely suspended.
Several players and head coach Craig Berube called out what they thought was the shorter than normal suspension, and multiple fans and analysts have done the same.
One thing is for certain right now, that Parros is in the crosshairs of heightened criticism for his job performance.
