The Nashville Predators are an organization that is trending downwards, and now GM Barry Trotz has been called out for continually making excuses.
Last season, the Nashville Predators were one of the biggest disappointments in the National Hockey League, and with a 6-10-4 record through their first 20 games this season, things are not looking good in the near future.
That has led to calls from fans to potentially look towards a rebuild moving forward, with the team lacking elite level talent as well as top level prospects, meaning they need to start collecting some positive assets.
Barry Trotz called out for excuse making
It's unclear if that is the plan of General Manager Barry Trotz, but he's been under fire for his role in building this current team, one that was meant to contend last season after the free agency additions of
Steven Stamkos,
Jonathan Marchessault and
Brady Skjei.
Now, he's been interviewed by
102.5 The Game in Nashville, as he looks to explain and defend yet another slow start to the new season from the Predators.
Fans on social media were quick to call him out as a result, listing these three things as Trotz' biggest excuses as the Predators once again fall down in the standings in the Central Division.
- This franchise has always been built through defense/goaltending, lack forward talent
- Team is on the wrong end of bad luck
- Western Conference has lots of «juggernauts»
This comes after fans have spent the past few weeks calling for the job of Head Coach Andrew Brunette, and with so many questions to answer, things are likely going to get uglier in Nashville before they get better as fans continue to put the pressure on their GM to turn things around.
