Luke Evangelista's future has been up in the air this summer, but now, after months of speculation, he's come to an agreement on a new deal with the Predators.
This off-season has been a long, drawn out process around the NHL, but now, after months and months of speculation, the final RFA domino in the National Hockey League has fallen.
Luke Evangelista Signs Two-Year Bridge Deal in Nashville
Despite reports emerging early on Friday that the Predators latest offer to Luke Evangelista was $1 million per season, the two sides have come together on a deal just days before the 2025/26 campaign begins.
According to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, the two sides have
agreed on a deal that will last for two seasons, paying Evangelista $3 million a year over that time, as Nashville lock in a key piece of their lineup.
Last year, Evangelista was very solid for the Predators, tallying 10 goals and 32 points in 68 games played, and now, the team are hoping that with a new deal in hand, the 23-year old former second-round pick can take the leap that the organization have desperately been waiting for.
Ultimately, this is a team with a bleak outlook at this point in time after spending an amazing amount of money last off-season, but with a young player like Evangelista emerging among these veterans, they enter 2025/26 with some hope that they can break out and make a push to the Stanley Cup Playoffs once more.
