Over the past few years, the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs have built up a massive rivalry, meeting several times in the Stanley Cup Playoffs throughout that time, with the Panthers coming out on top in every matchup.

Last season was another incredible clash between them, with the seven game series delivering what every hockey fan wants in their post-season action, with plenty of intensity, physicality and drama.

During the latest trailer for Faceoff on Amazon Prime, video was shown of that series, and unsurprisingly, it involved Matthew Tkachuk, who was clearly going very hard after talented Maple Leafs star William Nylander.

This is the type of thing that elevates someone like Tkachuk over his rivals, as he shows that he can play with the edge needed in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, all while elevating his own game and helping to lead the Panthers back to their third straight Stanley Cup Finals.

It's unclear if something happened between the two to force Tkachuk to go so hard at his rival, but given how dominant the Panthers were late in the series, it's clear that Tkachuk's trash talk and his play on the ice effected Toronto greatly.

Ultimately, these two teams are somehow likely to meet in the post-season again this year, and with Toronto looking to finally get their victory over the Panthers, look for Nylander to be motivated to dominate Tkachuk after all of this trash talk.
