'I sound like a baby': Ryan O'Reilly calls himself out for viral post-game comments

The Nashville Predators have been one of the NHL's worst teams over the past 18 months, and despite having some high profile names, this is a team that has both a questionable present and future.

Even their veterans have struggled early in the year, and recently, one of those key leaders in Ryan O'Reilly called himself out with some surprising comments after Nashville's slow start to the 2025/26 season.

It's unclear if something specific triggered these comments or whether or not the frustration has simply built up too high with O'Reilly in Nashville, but the comments got the NHL world talking.

Now, little has changed with the Predators overall situation, but on Monday, O'Reilly walked back those comments, explaining that he sounded like a baby and should have just shut up.

Clearly, times are tough in Nashville, and with the team going 5-9-4 through their first 18 games, it's clear that the team are going to struggle to stay out of the bottom-five in the NHL once again, and while O'Reilly didn't say he was wrong in those original comments, he's looking to be a better leader moving forward.
