The Oilers celebrate against the Canadiens.

The Canadiens were on the wrong end of a bad call this week, and now, Oilers media have called them out for their continued complaining about the officials.

Earlier this week, the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers did battle, and despite some heroics from Cole Caufield, it was the Oilers that came away winners in overtime.
It wasn't without controversy however, as there were several calls against Montreal that were considered questionable at best, leading to a firestorm from the Canadiens media.
This led to Canadiens reporter Stu Cowan taking to social media to call it a robbery, quoting TSN's Craig Button in the process as they continued to call the officials out during and after the game, going on to state that the officials made the game about themselves.
Referees get Oilers back in game. Good on TSN's Craig Button for ripping officials on broadcast. TSN's Craig Button compares what referees did to Habs tonight to recent robbery at the Louvre. Good line - and true.

Oilers Media Call Out Canadiens Media For Still Complaining

Now, several days later, the Vancouver Sun have penned an article calling out the Canadiens media for still talking about the call, quoting Tony Marinaro who requested the league look into this situation.
You're almost deciding the outcome of the game. Referees are not supposed to have that kind of an impact on the outcome of a game. And they did last night.
Even Oilers reporter Jason Gregor admitted the call against Slafkovsky shouldn't have ben called, but days later, it's clearly time for the Canadiens to move on to the games ahead.
Ultimately, these calls were likely the wrong ones, and it cost the Canadiens the game against Edmonton, but at the end of the day, it was one game, with the media needing to move on to what's ahead instead, as the NHL and the officials likely aren't going to change anything.
