Nick Suzuki puts Canadiens on notice before Game 7 in Buffalo

Nick Suzuki put Martin St-Louis on the clock after Montreal's Game 6 home-ice collapse.
This was not a captain tossing out a routine quote after a bad night.
Suzuki called the effort "disappointing" after the Canadiens fell 8-3 to the Buffalo Sabres at Bell Centre, with the series now tied 3-3.
His message was sharp: Montreal can't allow that to be its last game at home, and Game 7 in Buffalo has to start with a total mental reset.
Suzuki's delivery matched the damage on the ice.
"It's disappointing to have that effort on home ice; we can't let that be our last game here. We gotta do whatever we can to forget about it [Game 6] and be ready for Game 7."

Suzuki's quote puts pressure back on St-Louis
The strategic issue now sits behind the bench. Martin St-Louis has to decide whether Game 6 was a one-night breakdown or a warning about matchups, defensive layers, and nerves.
Montreal went 48-24-10 this season, good for 106 points, but that record no longer protects anyone.
The Canadiens also went 24-9-8 on the road, which gives St-Louis one real card to play: this group has already shown it can handle hostile buildings.
But Game 7 is different. Buffalo just dropped eight on Montreal, and that changes how every shift feels.
Suzuki has 12 points in 13 playoff games, yet his -5 rating shows the top line's two-way burden is not just theoretical anymore.
That is why his quote lands bigger than frustration. It is a public demand for response, structure, and pride from the same locker room that just let a home closeout slip away.
St-Louis does not need a speech now. He needs cleaner exits, better puck support, and a bench that looks ready from puck drop.
Monday decides whether Suzuki's words become a turning point or the first line of Montreal's offseason autopsy.
