The Montreal Canadiens have had a crushing week of injuries, losing Alex Newhook, Kaiden Guhle, and now Kirby Dach.

The Canadiens, who started the season red-hot, have now lost three straight games; a 5-1 loss to the LA Kings, an embarrassing 7-0 blowout against the Dallas Stars, and a close 3-2 game against original six rival Boston last night.
During the Dallas game, Newhook took an odd tumble, breaking his ankle. He is set to return in approximately four months.
Kaiden Guhle, who has already missed several games with an injury, has now undergone surgery and will miss an additional six to eight weeks.
To add to the injury troubles, Kirby Dach, who has only played 132 out of 261 possible games as a Canadien, has now suffered a fractured foot, and will miss over a month recovering.

Montreal Canadiens' Injuries Becoming a Big Issue Quickly

After the Canadiens' tough loss against Dallas, lineup changes were made. Alex Newhook, who has been among rookie phenom Ivan Demidov's most prominent linemates, was replaced with Kirby Dach on the teams' second line.
Now, with Dach injured as well, the Habs are scrambling for answers. Their top line of Juraj Slafkosvky, Nick Suzuki, and Cole Caufield remains a true threat, so that will likely remain untouched; beyond that, the rest of the team doesn't have much order.
Demidov and fellow rookie Oliver Kapanen are set to continue playing on the same line, but the third member of that line remains a question. The Canadiens called up rookie forward Jared Davidson following the Stars game, who made his NHL debut against Boston. They have now called up young forward Joshua Roy to continue to supplement their dwindling NHL forward options.
For a team that has spent 15 games at the top of the Atlantic, this is the first point in the season where real concerns are present. We will see if the Canadiens can right the ship and avoid a fourth straight loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets tomorrow night.
