Jacob Fowler's professional future is very bright, and now he's revealed that he'll finish University while playing in his first pro-season with the Laval Rocket.

Jacob Fowler is seen as one of the Montreal Canadiens top prospects, and around the league, he's considered a major prospect as one of the top goaltenders that will find his way to the NHL in the coming years.
At 20-years of age, Fowler is set to begin his first full professional season after appearing in three games for the Laval Rocket a season ago, and while the goaltending in the NHL is solid for Montreal, it's a matter of when, not if Fowler takes over the top role.

Jacob Fowler Commits to Finishing Communications Degree at Boston College, Will Likely be AHL Starter as Well

However, Fowler isn't solely focused on hockey, as he opened up on his future goals during an interview with The Athletic, noting that he's taking courses from Boston College still as he enters his first season in the AHL.
"I feel my time is something that's valuable. I enjoy coming to the rink, staying late at the rink, but more just staying a complete person away from the rink as well. Because if you're just playing video games all day, you're not going to play as well on the ice probably.

Really just trying to keep plugging away. A bunch of my teammates and I now have little inside challenges of who's going to finish first, all taking similar classes. For me, that's something that's bigger than hockey, something for my family and myself to have for the rest of my life."

Fowler is reportedly taking a course titled 'creative communications' with BC, and will continue to do so on the side during his first pro season at the age of 20, showing that he's mature beyond his years coming into such a key campaign.
Only time will tell if Fowler is the real deal, but after posting a 2.48 GAA and a .902 save percentage in eight Calder Cup Playoffs games a year ago, it would not be a major surprise to see all of this success translate to the NHL some day.
