Fans Unhappy With Canadiens' Martin St-Louis' Comments After Embarrassing Loss to the St. Louis Blues
Fans are unhappy with recent comments made by Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis after last night's embarrassing loss to the St. Louis Blues.
The Montreal Canadiens could be in the playoffs for the first time since they reached the Stanley Cup finals in 2021, but it's not a sure thing just yet.
Indeed, the Habs may be holding on to the second wild card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference for now, but with the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Detroit Red Wings, and Columbus Blue Jackets all in the race, every game matters for Montreal.
They let one slip away last night, after a poor effort led to a 6-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.
After the game, concerns emerged in the Canadiens' fanbase due to comments made by head coach Martin St-Louis.
St-Louis has often protected his players in his press conferences, showing great confidence in the long-term process of his teachings and the determination of the players.
He is also known for making strong statements with unique metaphors to illustrate his thoughts.
Like only he can, he called the blowout loss "fertilizer," not "failure."
Here, he aimed to say that he could find a way to grow after that loss.
But what's important is that this shows his intentions to bounce back quickly from their losing streak.
This was the team's third straight loss, and they simply can't afford to keep going that way if they want to make it to the playoffs.
Luck turned their way last night, as the Rangers, Senators, and Red Wings all lost. But Montreal will need to win their next games to keep their spot.
With only 12 games left in the regular season, fans hope that the "fertilizer" will do its job and that the Habs will soon reap the rewards of their efforts.
Many called him out on X:
Thursday night's game against the Flyers will be a must-win for the Canadiens. Stay tuned for more.
