Former Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes, now with the Minnesota Wild, caused some controversy by skipping out early at a team charity event.

The Minnesota Wild made one of the biggest trades of the year in December when they acquired Quinn Hughes, the former Vancouver Canucks captain.
It showed that they are serious about finally getting out of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2015, and they hope that Hughes, who once led the Canucks to Game 7 of the 2024 Western Conference Semifinal against the divisional foe Edmonton Oilers, can help make it a reality.
But Hughes has come under some controversy recently after allegedly skipping out early at a team charity event called «Whiskey and Wine», which has naturally rubbed some fans the wrong way.
Was a great time, bummed the line was so long. Hughes dipped early but i was surprised he went. - Shawn hohneke
Quinn Hughes is the most selfish guy in the NHL.

Leaving charity events early/not showing up in Vancouver AND Minnesota

No significant impact on the community as CAPTAIN. No appearances at BC Children's.

And some people want this guys' jersey retired in VAN. FOH. - nucks0

Quinn Hughs' Brother Jack Hughes Caused Recent Controversy

Quinn's brother Jack, who plays for the New Jersey Devils and who also scored the gold-medal winning goal for Team USA over Team Canada in the Olympics, recently caused controversy when he said he wants the puck back from the Hockey Hall of Fame.
His comments drew an array of reactions, with some pointing out that Sidney Crosby, who did the same for Canada in 2010, never asked for that puck or the gloves/sticks he used back for personal safekeeping.
