Los Angeles Kings reveal their surprising plans with Pierre-Luc Dubois
The Los Angeles Kings were decimated by the Oilers in the first round of the playoffs, and now we know one key move that the team won't be making this summer.
After another disappointing playoff run, it's clear that over the summer, something has to change for the Los Angeles Kings, namely, the team need to get younger in some areas and find a top, playoff performing goaltender. One move that has been speculated is a potential buy-out of Pierre-Luc Dubois, who was a major disappointment this season after the team used plenty of assets to land him from Winnipeg last year.
Now however, it has been reported that as of right now, the team have absolutely no intention of buying him out.
The Los Angeles Kings were decimated by the Oilers in the first round of the playoffs, and now we know one key move that the team won't be making this summer.
General Manager Rob Blake confirmed that's not on the cards right now, although PLD had a dreadful first season in LA, tallying just 40 points in 82 games played. In two full seasons with Winnipeg, Dubois had 60 and 63 points before forcing his way out, so the talent is there, but with how he behaves on and off the ice, it's safe to say that there's few teams in the league that want him right now.
This sentiment from Blake could change throughout the summer with other moves, but as of right now, it appears the team are doubling down on Dubois moving forward.
