Major news confirmed for the Maple Leafs and Blackhawks
With the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs officially concluding some new information has been dropped regarding the upcoming offseason. The news impacts the futures of several teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks.
This morning the official draft order for picks 17 through 23 has been set. This comes after enough teams were eliminated in round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to determine their draft order.
With the news, the Toronto Maple Leafs have locked in draft slot number 23. The Chicago Blackhawks also found out that their second first-round selection via the Tampa Bay Lightning will be at 20.

This announcement is the beginning of a lot of NHL Draft coverage on the horizon. The NHL Draft lottery is set to commence on Tuesday.

NHL insider Bob McKenzie is also set to release his draft rankings based on NHL scout surveys which will provide an inside look at what players might hear their name called early in the NHL Draft.

We will this afternoon be releasing the @TSNHockey Top 15 Prospect Rankings, the NHL Draft Lottery Edition.
The draft lottery, of course, goes tomorrow evening.
Our final rankings of 80+ prospects for the 2024 NHL draft will be compiled in early June and released a week or so prior to the draft in Las Vegas, June 28-29.
Today's Draft Lottery Edition Top 15 will be posted on http://TSN.ca by mid-afternoon.
