LA Kings get difficult injury update on star Drew Doughty

The Los Angeles Kings have announced unfortunate injury news on top defenseman Drew Doughty, who was seen leaving last night's game against the Ottawa Senators in a walking boot.
The Los Angeles Kings beat the Ottawa Senators 1-0 last night, but it came at a cost to a top defenseman.
The Kings have announced that Drew Doughty, who was hurt after he blocked a shot and left in the second period, is going to be out for several weeks.
It's worrisome considering that it's the same ankle that Doughty injured last year in preseason play and was forced to miss the first several weeks of the season.
After the game, coach Jim Hiller didn't have much of an update other than
to praise his warrior mentality.
We'll probably have an update tomorrow, but not much to share right now.
He made a great play at the end of it, because they had somebody back door. He's a warrior. We've talked about him a lot, and that's just another example of it. - Jim Hiller
So far this year, Doughty has eight points (2G, 6A) in 19 games.
Doughty Suffered A Major Ankle Injury In The Preseason Last Year
This isn't the first time that Doughty has suffered
ankle injury. Last year during a preseason game against the Vegas Golden Knights, he took an awkward fall, fracturing his ankle and missing the next several months.
Doughty has won two Stanley Cups as the top defenseman for the Kings; he and longtime teammate
Anze Kopitar are the only two players left on the current roster from their 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cup winning teams.
