The defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers were blown out 9-1 by the Carolina Hurricanes last night, and Carolina's broadcast rubbed it in by zooming in close on a crying young fan of the Panthers.

There wasn't anything that went right for the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers in last night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes, who put a major beating on them.
The Hurricanes won 9-1 at Lenovo Center in what the Panthers hope is a low point for their season, which has included the absence of so many key players because of injury, including Sasha Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk.
The Hurricanes broadcast also showed no mercy, even to the youngest of Panthers fans, zooming in on the face of an emotional child in the stands who was rooting for Florida after Carolina scored their ninth goal of the night.

Nikolaj Ehlers Had A Hat Trick In Carolina's Blowout 9-1 Win Over The Panthers

Multiple key Hurricanes players factored into the blowout win over the Panthers, including first year Hurricanes forward Nikolaj Ehlers, who scored a hat trick.
Ehlers is playing in his first year in a Hurricanes sweater after having played the first several years of his career with the Winnipeg Jets, who won the President's Trophy last year but are one of the worst teams in the NHL this year.
Additionally, Taylor Hall, who is playing in his first full year with the Hurricanes after being acquired at the Trade Deadline last year as part of the three-team blockbuster trade involving Mikko Rantanen, scored twice.
Mark Jankowski, Eric Robinson and Andrei Svechnikov also all scored for the Hurricanes as part of the blowout win.
