Per a new report from Bruins analyst Jimmy Murphy, a potential trade involving the Bruins and defenseman Rasmus Andersson is beginning to pick up steam again.

Even though it looked like a potential trade involving Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson to the Boston Bruins was given the no-go by the Swedish defenseman because he allegedly didn't want to extend in Boston, it looks like a potential deal could be back on.
Per a new report from Bruins analyst Jimmy Murphy, who initially reported Andersson's alleged reluctance to sign an extension with the Bruins, Andersson allegedly has "changed his mind" and would be willing to accept a deal to Boston and later sign an extension.
Apologies for late night/early morning update, but fell asleep around 10 and missed a message. Hearing through same source who said the NHLBruins were out on Andersson because of no extension, that Andersson changed his mind and he, the Bruins and Flames are 'on same page now' - Jimmy Murphy
Murphy then continued by saying that even though there isn't a deal yet in place, the Dallas Stars are also a team that is reportedly trying to acquire Andersson.
I'm told this is not a done deal yet but it's definitely back on. I've also heard another team (Dallas?) is still pushing hard. - Jimmy Murphy
So far this year with the struggling Flames, Andersson has 29 points (10G, 19A) in 47 games.

Rasmus Andersson Is On The Trade Block With The Flames

By all indications, the Flames are on their way to yet another year without making the playoffs, which they haven't played in since 2022.
Andersson is one of the most visible names that is involved in trade rumours with the Flames right now, along with his teammate Nazem Kadri, who was signed in 2022 to a seven year deal after helping the Colorado Avalanche to the 2022 Stanley Cup.
The Trade Deadline this year is March 6.
