Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand has revealed that he refused a trade to a specific unnamed team before being dealt to the Panthers last year at the Deadline.

There was a surprising trade at the Deadline last year between the divisional foe Boston Bruin and Florida Panthers, as Brad Marchand, the Bruins captain, was sent to the Panthers.
Marchand then helped the Panthers repeat as Stanley Cup champions, which was the team's second in a row.
Marchand also recently revealed that he refused a trade to a specific team before being moved to Florida, though he wouldn't say which team he turned down a trade to.
per marchand at Pantherfest: he was traded to another team an hour before the deadline, and when he got called by the other team, he said no he wouldn't play for them. wouldn't specify which team
After helping the Panthers win the Stanley Cup, Marchand signed a 6 year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $5,250,000.
He's off to a good start in his 1st full year in Florida with 12 points (6G, 6A).

Brad Marchand Got Emotional During His Video Tribute In His Return To Boston

The Panthers recently played the Bruins at TD Garden, and there was a special video tribute played on the Jumbotron, as it was Marchand's 1st game back in Boston since being traded.
During the video tribute, cameras caught Marchand getting emotional as a flood of memories from his time in a Bruins sweater came rushing back.
Marchand doesn't play for the Bruins anymore, but he still is loved by fans in Boston, many of whom thought he would likely return to them in free agency over the summer.
