Oilers analyst Bob Stauffer blasted the entire Oilers team after they were embarrassed 9-1 against the Colorado Avalanche on home ice last night in their worst loss in 16 years.
Nothing went right for the Edmonton Oilers last night on home ice against the Colorado Avalanche, as they were embarrassed in every possible way while losing 9-1.
It was their largest margin in a loss since January of 2010 against the Buffalo Sabres in which they lost 10-2.
After the loss, Oilers analyst Bob Stauffer ripped the team a new one in a fiery postgame rant in which he demanded that everyone in the organization from the players to the coaching staff take a good and hard look in the mirror.
To a man, every player needs to look in the mirror. The coaches need to look in the mirror. You looked at the cohesiveness of that top 5 played with on the first 2 goals? The Oilers have been mixing and matching all season. And they have nothing.
Oilers Coach Kris Knoblauch Says He Hopes This Is Rock Bottom For His Team
Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch, who recently signed a three year extension to remain behind the bench through 2029, said after the game that he hopes this embarrassing loss represents the low point of his time with them and that it wakes up the players.
I definitely hope this is rock bottom for us. I hope this wakes up a lot of guys and we understand we've got a lot of growing to do to become a good hockey team.
The Oilers are now 0-2-1 in their last three games, with last night easily being the worst of the bunch.
