The Edmonton Oilers have made some additions this off-season, but heading into training camp, Stan Bowman is reportedly looking for help in the top-six.

After losing several key pieces in free agency this off-season already, the Edmonton Oilers made one big trade, acquiring Isaac Howard from the Tampa Bay Lightning in a move to add a young piece to their top six.
Along with the free agency signing of Andrew Mangiapane, the Oilers now have two new faces in their forward group, a group that now looks to be McDavid, Draisaitl, Mangiapane, Howard, Hyman and Nugent-Hopkins.
However, reports have now emerged that the team could be looking to move one of those players elsewhere in the lineup while looking to make a big addition to their top-six.
In free agency, the Oilers could potentially look at a veteran like Max Pacioretty or Viktor Olofsson to fill a role, but as of right now, the overwhelming expectation is that they'll look to be aggressive on the trade front.
Looking in the Oilers system, there's very little that they can offer other teams, but if they want to dangle some significant draft capital, there may be a player or two out there that could be a significant upgrade to give this lineup some depth heading into the 2025/26 season.
At this point in time, there's no reason to doubt how aggressive the Oilers will be in pursuing an upgrade in their lineup somewhere, as Stan Bowman has shown a willingness to add talent around Connor McDavid as they look to go one step further in 2026, so for now, keep a close eye on the Oilers as training camp draws near.
