The Detroit Red Wings have undergone major changes this offseason and now they've been linked to a new impact sniper still on the free agent market.
The Detroit Red Wings have been at the center of offseason news over the last month.
First, captain Dylan Larkin announced he would be requesting a trade away from the team after the Red Wings playoff drought was extended.
Then, the Red Wings fired GM Steve Yzerman shortly after the draft moving their franchise in a different direction.
The firing was followed by the recent loss of sniper Patrick Kane after he decided to sign a deal to return to the Chicago Blackhawks as a free agent.
With Kane gone, the Red Wings are reportedly on the lookout for a skilled winger and have now been connected to former first-round pick Eeli Tolvanen.

According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, the Red Wings have been exploring options to improve their winger depth.
One name the Red Wings are reportedly interested in is Eeli Tolvanen.
I know Eeli Tolvanen is one of the players that the Red Wings expressed interest in; there are others out there as well that they were exploring - David Pagnotta
Tolvanen, 27, is a former first round pick who has thrived in a depth role for both the Seattle Kraken and Nashville Predators during his 8 year NHL career.
When Tolvanen was drafted he was expected to be an elite goal scorer but has settled into the league as an all-around winger who can contribute both with his shot and his playmaking.
If the Red Wings are looking for help on the wings and a veteran in the locker room then Tolvanen seems like the perfect fit.
As the offseason continues, it will be interesting to see if the Red Wings interest in Tolvanen turns into a deal or remains just a curiosity.
